There was once an 11 year old girl. She was having a birthday and she fell asleep on the couch. Her Aunt, she lived with, found a bird that was being sold. It was a 6 week old cockatiel. She got it for the girl, and the girl was so happy.
She took the bird and played with it. She red a book called red wall to him. She loved him and he was the sunshine of her day. She wanted to name him something that was connected to the sun. Not something like Sunny, something unusual and cool. Her sister told her Apollo when she asked, and that's how it got his name.
She red to him every day for hours. She showed him her favorite series, Hank the Cow dog. The longest she red to him was 4 hours. The least was 30 minutes. She played a game called ladder with him. She even tried to teach him how to talk.
She took care of him and treated him like a family member. She cleaned his cage twice every week. She gave him clean water everyday. She fed him when his food was gone. She loved Apollo.
One day, the bird did something to make her soo happy. He went over to her neck, and but his head on her neck, then rubbed his soft feathery head on it.
She learned his emotions. When he was angry he bit her ear, not hard enough to hurt her though. When he was embarrassed he hid. When he was happy he chirped. And when he was in a lovable mood in rubbed his head on her neck.
Her aunt was mean, and reading to him was the only thing that could get her away from her aunt.
One day, they moved to her grandma's house. The girl was so stupid! She ignored the bird for the computer! The once happy bird became sad and lonely. This went on for days.
One day the bird was on her shoulder and she forgot. She went to dinner to eat. They was eating spaghetti. The bird went down her shoulder and ate some meat. They all laughed about it.
Then one day Apollo got into some mashed potatoes. The girl got him away from him the mashed potatoes 'cause bad stuff for birds was in it.
After supper the bird started flinging mashed potatoes from his mouth. The girl was so upset and she did everything she could do to help him.
She red to him for the next 2 days trying to make up for not saving him from the mashed potatoes earlier. The third day she went to her best friends birthday party. When her grandma picked her up she had bad news. She held her breath waiting to hear her dad was in jail again. But it was totally different.
Apollo had died.
She cried and her best friend got to go home with her and spend the night to calm her down. She got to hold his dead stiff body one last time and then they buried him. They had a small funeral for him and they put flowers on his grave. She became depressed and looked up pictures of cockatiels, photos of them together, sad songs, and all that.
She cried for months and months until she ran out of tears. She promised she would never forget him and always love him.
Apollo is still in her heart to this very day. She cries because she misses him so much. She tried to wash away her tears by befriending another bird. But it wasn't the same.
The End.
That's my story. I miss him so muuuuuuuuuch!!!!!!
